New Location: WCA Church of God Campground, Whittier, NC

www.gatewaycampground.com

NC Nazarene Kids Camp is for all kids who have completed 1st grades – 6th grades.

This year we moved to a new location due to space issues last year.  This camp is much larger than in previous years and we have kept last year’s rates. The WCA Camp also offers many fun activities.

The campground has a giant pool, gaga ball, gym, paintball guns, zip line, air conditioning, a large dining hall, and much, much more!

My name is Pastor Duncan Puckett from the Pineville Church of the Nazarene. I have been the Kids Camp Director for three years now. Let me tell you… I love and I believe in camp! I was saved at camp, like many of you... And we are so excited about what GOD will do in the lives and hearts of the boys, girls, teens and adults this year.

LAST YEAR WAS AWESOME, BUT WE WERE TOO BIG FOR HICKORY COVE, SO WE HAVE A NEW CAMP VENUE THIS YEAR!

It is called the WCA Church of God Gateway Conference Center in Whittier, NC in the western NC mountains!!! The camp address is 88 Vinewood Circle, Whittier, NC 28789.  The camp’s website is: www.Gatewaycampground.com. Check it out!  This is the same campground the NCNYI uses for their camp. The camp is much larger for us and we will have lots of fun exploring all that this campground offers.  It is an awesome place and it was a real answer to prayer.

Some of the exciting events we will be able to offer at this camp are WORSHIP ARTS, ZIPLINE, CLIMBING WALL, FIELD GAMES, GAGA BALL, A GIANT POOL, GYM GAMES, HIKING, PAINT BALL GUNS, CRAFTS, AND MUCH MUCH MORE!

The campground is only a few years old. One more thing…. all the facilities are air-conditioned!

Primary and Junior Camps
This camp ground allows us to keep the activities separate for primaries and juniors

Primary Camp is for those who have completed 1st thru 3rd grade, and Junior Camp is for those who have completed 4th thru 6th grade.

Primary and Junior Campers will be separate for most events, but they will be together during the evening services.

 Camp Cost

Camp has been the same cost for five years or so.  The new campground offers many more activities and a much nicer facility, therefore the cost had to go up. You will be very pleased with this facility!

You may have heard, that we have had to raise the rate of camp this year…

The Early bird rate is $200.00 if paid in full by May 6th.  The middle rate is $225.00 if paid by June 10th and the late rate ( including walk in’s ) is $250.00.  We request that all funds be by church check. The date of the postmark will lock you into a rate.

There will be a $25 reduction off of the registration fee based on the above schedule for children of workers if their application and background check is received by May 6th .  Also a $20.00 ( one time ) discount for sibling campers.  Please be aware that all campers must be paid in full and that we will not be holding checks this year until camp.  We will deposit them as we get them.

Camp T-Shirts: We will have camp t-shirts, but we cannot guarantee shirt sizes after the July 1st application deadline.  Any registrations after this will receive a shirt if we have one available in their size.

Bibles:  In order to ensure that every child has a Bible at camp, and to avoid expensive Bibles coming to camp that might get lost or damaged, Bibles will be available to the kids during the week.

Volunteers:  We need many willing volunteers.  THERE IS NO COST FOR KIDS CAMP WORKERS.  If you are interested in volunteering, there are a few things that you will need to keep in mind.  We need all worker applications by May 6th .  ( There are only a certain number of teen spots available ). Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Each worker will need to complete a background check form.  There is no fee for this.  Each volunteer will also be required to view a brief training lesson on computer if they did not do so last year.  After you have registered we will send you a link to this training.  We will try and match each worker with their requested assignment, but this cannot be guaranteed.  We prefer that underage children not attend camp.

Any exceptions to this must be approved by the camp board and there will be a minimum charge of $60 to cover the extra expense created.

Camp Schedule: Registration will begin on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  We request that you not arrive early and lunch will not be provided.  On Friday, camp will end around 12:00 p.m. There will not be a lunch provided.  There are plenty of places to eat nearby and we have had much wasted food in the past on Friday’s lunch.  All children should be picked up by 1:30 p.m.

Camp Forms:  You may access information at our facebook page: NC Nazarene Kids Camp or check out the NC Nazarene District website www.ncnaz.org under SDMI for all forms.  Or you may email dpuckett.pnaz@gmail.com for me to email it to you.

Thanks for giving us this opportunity to minister to your children.  We look forward to what God will do in the lives of our kids this summer through NC Nazarene Kids Camp!

In His Service, “because JESUS loves kids!!!”
